Biography

SHOCTOPUS was intially formed in late 2006, but almost came to an end at the beginning of 2008 with the departure of their bassist. But, after 3 months of auditioning bassists, all the pieces were back in place with the arrival of Ian "Tank" Boylan.

The renewed quartet spent the next 4 months in their rehearsal studio practising the back catalogue, jamming on ideas and coming up with new material. Back on form, in July 2008 they got the chance to open KnockanStockan Music Festival as their first gig back. Several gigs followed in Dublin, but the studio was calling. The lads had decided to record an EP, and entered the studio in Nov 2008. All was done and dusted in 5 days. And the tracks were taken to London to be mixed and mastered. With the finished songs now ready to go, 2009 promises to be an exciting year for this band.
