Mother Tongue

Factories belch filth to the skies,
Polluting all the airways
The climate starts to change.
Scorching earth and melting ice
Vaporising Ozone,
Poison in the rain.
We've split the atom, gone to space
We revel in our greatness,
At all the leaps we've made.
But got no time to look beyond
At what we've left behind us-
An endless trail of waste.

BRIDGE:
And still we do nothing.
As it all comes undone.
Ignoring the warnings, screaming

CHORUS:
In our mother tongue.
We race into oblivion.

Another forest fell today
Destroying the eco system
Another homeless tribe.
Caught up in our busy lives
We seldom blink an eye at-
Another species died.
Ruled by fear the course we steer,
Driven by our hunger.
Waging war for greed.
Our blinded eyes don't realise
That we soon will all be
Confined to history.

BRIDGE
CHORUS

BREAK:
As we sit there, staring at the future.
In denial, of what's yet to come.
Yeah we keep on, ignoring all the warnings
That are screaming, in our mother tongue
In our mother tongue
In our mother tongue
Can you hear it screaming
In our mother tongue

CHORUS
