Acrid Nebula began in mid-2005 when ex-Edible guitarist Justin Maloney contacted Finbarr Evans who was looking to form a new band. After establishing there was a common appreciation of classic thrash, plans were made to get some demos made before completing the line up. After a variety of setbacks it was almost a year later when drummer Pete Murray, formerly of Dublin death metal legends Morphosis joined and writing and rehearsals began in earnest. Musically Acrid Nebula reflects the varying influences of its members. Taking from thrash, doom, death and a whole host of other genres the band has forged its own heavy style that has never strayed from the original concept, i.e. to write supremely heavy riff oriented songs that either stick in your mind or cave in your skull. From blistering speed to chugging doom to death metal, the only rule is that it sounds good and heavy.
